The LOTR TV series is set in Middle Earth and will explore new storylines that predate J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Ring. Amazon has yet to confirm Horvath’s inclusion in the show’s core cast. He will be joined by Markella maid outfit Kavenagh, Will Poulter and Joseph Mawle.
Pre-production for the Lord of the Rings TV series in New Zealand is well underway. The streamer recently renewed Season 2 early to accommodate the massive adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasy books. Amazon also commissioned the reassemblement of the writers to break the second season.
The LOTR series will be on a 4-5 month hiatus in conjunction with the renewal. This is after the filming of the first two episodes of Season 1 directed by J.A. Bayona. J.D. and Payne are the showrunners. Patrick McKay and Payne will use this time to plan and write the majority of Season 2 scripts.
